Russell Wilson Sends A Warning To The Rest Of The NFL

The Denver Broncos had an awful 2022 season in Russell Wilson’s maiden voyage with them, and when they lost five of their first six games this season, everyone was ready to declare the Wilson experiment a failure.

But starting in Week 7 versus the Green Bay Packers, they staged what seems to be a revival.

They have now won six of their last eight contests, and with a 7-7 record, they have a shot at making the playoffs.

Wilson said, per Zac Stevens, that if Denver closes out the season well, they will be a handful in the postseason.

The future Hall of Famer had an awful 2022 season, but this season, he looks a lot more like the player who consistently made the Pro Bowl as a member of the Seattle Seahawks from 2012 to 2021.

Through 14 games this year, he has completed 66.3 percent of his pass attempts and thrown for 2,832 yards and 24 touchdowns.

ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 13: Russell Wilson #3 of the Denver Broncos warms up prior to a game against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium on November 13, 2023 in Orchard Park, New York.

When the Broncos have won lately, it hasn’t been pretty, but one trait of legitimate playoff teams is the ability to consistently win even when they aren’t playing well.

They rank 30th in both points given up and total yards allowed, but four of their seven victories have come by three or fewer points, which should bode well for them moving forward.

The Broncos have what appears to be three relatively easy games coming up against the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, and Las Vegas Raiders to close out the regular season, which will give them a clear opportunity to finish with 10 wins.
