NBA Rumors: Ex-Milwaukee Bucks Stud Linked to New York Knicks After Massive OG Anunoby Trade

Milwaukee Bucks news: The New York Knicks rocked the basketball world recently after news broke that they had successfully struck a deal with the Toronto Raptors for highly-coveted wing OG Anunoby. In exchange, the Knicks sent RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a 2024 second-round pick. The Raptors, in turn, also sent Precious Achuiwa and Malachi Flynn to New York along with Anunoby.

As it turns out, however, the Knicks might not be done just yet.

The Knicks are serious about competing for a championship in the near future. In fact, they might even try to do it this year. Now that they’ve shored up their defense with Anunoby in the mix, it appears that New York is now looking to fortify its backcourt.

According to Knicks beat reporter Kris Pursianen, New York has “explored the option of trading for” Portland Trail Blazers guard Malcolm Brogdon.

Brogdon, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, made his way to Portland as part of the Boston Celtics’ blockbuster trade for Jrue Holiday. He could now be on the move again as playoff-bound teams look to add more firepower to their backcourt.

It is worth noting that Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports also linked Brogdon to the Knicks as a potential trade target, noting that New York has “enough draft capital and wiggle room with Evan Fournier’s contract to explore a wide range of names.”

If the Blazers decide to part ways with Brogdon, then the Knicks will certainly need to be willing to give up a major haul for the former Milwaukee Bucks Rookie of the Year.

If anything, this latest report indicates that the Knicks could be active buyers as we approach the February trade deadline.
