Eagles’ Nick Sirianni Doesn’t Hold Back On Jason Kelce Amid Retirement

With Jason Kelce’s tenure in the NFL drawing to a close, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni conveyed a heartfelt farewell to the team’s illustrious All-Pro center and offensive leader.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Sirianni spoke fondly of Kelce, describing him as “one of the most special players” he has had the privilege to work with, expressing his genuine affection for him.

“He’s special and I love him. He’s one of the most special guys I’ve been around… Obviously, he’s always got a place here and we’ll see what happens when time progresses.”

Should this indeed mark the end of Kelce’s career, as reports suggest he informed his teammates of his retirement following Monday night’s playoff defeat, it has been an extraordinary journey.

Originally drafted as a sixth-round pick from Cincinnati in 2011, Kelce transformed himself into a seven-time Pro Bowler, a six-time first-team All-Pro, and a Super Bowl champion.

He is all but certain to be remembered as one of the preeminent offensive linemen of his era and will forever hold a revered place in the hearts of Philadelphia fans.

While the reports are that Jason Kelce has opted to retire, it’s clear that Nick Sirianni and the Eagles haven’t given up hope that he will return. Sometimes, as an offseason progresses, players change their mind. Perhaps Kelce will end up being one of those players.
