Could Bruce Brown End Up On The Miami Heat?

Toronto Raptors guard Bruce Brown could wind up with the Miami Heat before the Feb. 8 trade deadline

It didn’t take long for the NBA trade market to catch fire for this season, but it has yet to involve Pat Riley and the Miami Heat.

The two blockbuster deals have involved the Toronto Raptors sending out their stars. Forward OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks and, most recently, All-Star Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for a package highlighted by guard Bruce Brown and multiple first-round picks.

While Indiana bulks up their roster in hopes of winning the NBA Finals, Miami could benefit from a less significant part of the trade.

Brown does not fit the Raptors timeline as a 27-year-old. Toronto is looking for a fresh start, building off the former No. 4 pick, Scottie Barnes. However, he could assist the Heat in their championship aspirations through his postseason experience and efficient scoring.

He won the 2023 championship as a key contributor for the Denver Nuggets. Brown is averaging 12.1 points on 47.5 percent shooting in 33 games this year. Miami could part ways with veteran guard Kyle Lowry and picks to acquire him.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski posted to social media on Wednesday afternoon with the complete trade details.

“BREAKING: The Indiana Pacers are finalizing a trade to acquire All-Star F Pascal Siakam in a deal that will send Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and three first-round picks to the Toronto Raptors,” Wojnarowski wrote. “New Orleans will be a third team in deal, sending Kira Lewis to the Raptors.”
