Bills’ Dion Dawkins made a huge mistake calling out Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes

Trash-talking Patrick Mahomes, one of the greatest players we have ever seen play the game of football, usually does not go well. In fact, there really isn’t a moment that I can think of where it did go well. The Kansas City Chiefs usually get the last laugh.

Bills' Dion Dawkins made a huge mistake calling out Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes

The last time someone talked trash about the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs was the Cincinnati Bengals calling Arrowhead Stadium “Burrowhead Stadium.” Obviously, we all saw how that went – if you need a refresher, just look up the video of Frank Clark after the last AFC Championship win over Cincinnati.

Now, the Buffalo Bills are trash-talking the Chiefs and, more specifically, Patrick Mahomes, which is just something you do not do. However, they are feeling themselves. This new-aged rivalry has always been played in Kansas City except for one game in Buffalo during the regular season, in which the COVID season happened, and no one was in the stadium.

But, I wouldn’t have said what one of their starters recently said to Mahomes.

“Pat [Patrick Mahomes] has never been to the Bills’ stadium in full effect,” Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins said earlier this week. “He has no idea what our fans even look like. Good luck.”

To me, that is just asking for a beatdown. Everyone knows you just don’t talk trash to Mahomes. There is a reason his nickname is Grim Reaper. Head coach Andy Reid said it best a few years ago: when things get grim, he’s the reaper.

The Chiefs beat the Bills in Buffalo in 2020 26-17 in what was a bad weather game that saw the Chiefs dominate on the ground with 245 rush yards. That game could very well be one the Chiefs replicate their play style off of on Sunday. The offense has worked best when they play through Isiah Pacheco and the run game.

This Sunday should be interesting, especially after Mahomes sees what the Bills are saying.
