Analyst Makes Bold Prediction About Cowboys If Dak Prescott Gets Extension

During the 2023 NFL regular season, the Dallas Cowboys were firing on all cylinders, as the team looked like one of the best all-around squads in the league, with Micah Parsons leading their stout defense and Dak Prescott making a case for NFL MVP as the leader on offense.

Unfortunately for Dallas, it all came crashing down once the team got into the NFL playoffs, with the upstart Green Bay Packers, led by up-and-coming quarterback Jordan Love, embarrassing America’s Team on their home field of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Packers crushed the Cowboys all game long, leading to an embarrassing loss for the Cowboys, which also sparked conversations about whether Prescott was the right man for the job under center, with talk of him getting a lucrative contract extension during the NFL offseason.

With Prescott still struggling to get it done in the postseason, Jake Butt of the Big Ten Network believes that the Cowboys will not win a Super Bowl if the veteran quarterback gets a max contract this offseason via The Rally.

“The Cowboys will not win a Super Bowl if they sign Dak to a max deal,” Butt said. “They may not win it with a team-friendly deal.”

Although it seems a bit extreme that Butt would go that far, it’s not a crazy theory, as Prescott has given the Cowboys brass no reason to believe he’s the right man for the job when the pressure is on during the NFL playoffs.

However, Jerry Jones and company don’t seem to want to start from scratch at the quarterback position, even though they recently acquired Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers.

Only time will tell if Prescott can be successful in the postseason and if the franchise is willing to bet the future on it.
