Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll can back Daniel Jones all they want, but plenty of people think that once late April gets here, the NY Giants will find a new QB1 of the future. Could that come just 13 months after giving Jones his $160 million deal? Possibly.
However, if Schoen wants to land one of the top signal-callers for the 2024 draft class, he’s likely going to have to trade up – the No. 6 overall pick may be too late. The Arizona Cardinals are open for business at No. 4, but it’s looking like the New England Patriots will be taking calls too. Now, the question becomes will Schoen reach out to the NE front office?
The New England Patriots are open to trading their No. 3 overall pick
So, how bad do you want Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels or J.J. McCarthy, Mr. Schoen? With the Chicago Bears owning the No. 1 overall pick and trading Justin Fields to the Steelers, it’s going to be a massive shock if they don’t take Caleb Williams.
News story: Jerod Mayo says Patriots open to trade offers for No. 3 pick; of the team's free-agent activity, he acknowledges disappointment in losing Calvin Ridley but says, "I think the most important thing for us was to get our people back here."https://t.co/KXXDebChMV

However, Williams isn’t the only stud QB available, as the other three guys are studs, with McCarthy seeing his stock rise more than anyone over the past month. If Schoen – who claims he’s locked in with Jones as his starter – is set on finding a new QB after all, it’s not going to be cheap for him.
It’s going to cost NY a future first-round pick and more, but it could be worth it if the Giants believe that a new QB1 is needed for the long haul to try and get this team back to the Super Bowl. Even when healthy in 2023, Jones was a nightmare to watch.
In six games played, he tossed for two touchdowns (both against the Cardinals in Week 2) and six interceptions. He battled another neck injury and tore his ACL in Week 9. The health concerns have never been higher with Jones, which could force Schoen’s hand, especially after the team went 6-11 last season.
Both Arizona and New England are ready to see what the Giants and other teams have to offer. At this point, plenty of Big Blue supporters think it’s only a matter of time before Schoen records another blockbuster trade this offseason, this time to climb up a few spots for a superstar gunslinger.
