The Crown and Black Mirror lead nominations for the 2024 Bafta TV awards, with eight and seven nominations apiece.

Following the British Academy Film Awards last month, nominees for the television shows of the last year were revealed on Wednesday (20 March).

For its divisive final season, Netflix’s royal drama The Crown has picked up nominations for supporting actress (Elizabeth Debicki and Lesley Manville), leading actor (Dominic West) and supporting actor (Salim Daw).

For the Charlie Brooker-created dystopian anthology Black Mirror, nods are for the season six episode “Demon 79”.

Happy ValleySlow Horses and The Sixth Commandment have all received six nominations, while The Last of UsThe Long Shadow and Succession follow with five nominations.

Out of 44 performer nominations, 17 are first-time nominees. Among these are the Bafta Film Awards host David Tennant for Good Omens, Hannah Waddingham for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Harriet Walters (Succession), Amit Shah (Happy Valley) and Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us).
