Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry To Sign With Them in Free Agency?

The Baltimore Ravens are in massive need of a running back and one of the players they could sign on the free agent market is Derrick Henry. Henry has played his entire NFL career with the Tennessee Titans.

Derrick Henry rushed for 1,167 yards on 280 carries and 12 touchdowns last season, along with averaging 4.2 yards per carry. He also caught 28 passes for 214 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 7.6 yards per reception.

Henry is one of the very few top running backs on the market. Saquon Barkley, Austin Ekeler, and Josh Jacobs will also be free agents. Derrick Henry is going to be pursued by several teams and the Ravens will be one of those teams. The Dallas Cowboys could be the contenders as well as Baltimore to signing him.

Bleacher Report’s Mitch Milani speaks about Derrick Henry and Thinks He Will End Up with the Dallas Cowboys and Not the Baltimore Ravens

Milani spoke on a live stream on Bleacher Report about where Henry is going to play in 2024 and maybe beyond that as well. He talked about the 30-year-old on the live stream by saying:

“Speaking of Derrick Henry, I’ve got him going to the Cowboys. …If you’re thinking of it of contrasting what they experienced last year in the inefficiency of the running game led by Tony Pollard. And contrasting that to, ‘What do we need different at the position to give us an edge?’”

Henry going to the Cowboys would be a totally not shocking move by any means. Dallas needs that workhorse running back in the backfield like they did with Ezekiel Elliott a couple of years ago to help out quarterback Dak Prescott.

However, what if the Baltimore Ravens did land Derrick Henry? Can you imagine trying to stop quarterback Lamar Jackson and Henry in the ground game? They were the number one seed in the AFC a season ago before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

Some of the running backs on the Ravens roster last season were Gus Edwards, Keaton Mitchell, and Melvin Gordon III. Henry would be a massive upgrade to that running back room. It would be a big loss for the Tennessee Titans if he went elsewhere and Tajee Spears is ready to be the lead back for them. However, the Henry sweepstakes will be fascinating throughout the free agency process in the NFL.
