Bears receive bad news heading into the holiday weekend

The Chicago Bears have released their final injury report heading into the holiday weekend and received some more bad news after a tough start to the week.

The Bears initially listed seven players who were held out of the first day of practice on Wednesday and will officially be listing three players has out entering the weekend.

Left guard Teven Jenkins was unable to clear concussion protocol and has been ruled out along with wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) and linebacker Noah Sewell (knee).

Here’s the final report sent out by the team following Friday’s practice:

The Bears offense will have some more concerns beyond being without their starting offensive lineman. Tight end Cole Kmet and running back D’Onta Foreman were both listed as questionable heading into Week 16.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said after practice that Kmet is trending in the right direction and Foreman’s status will be further evaluated later during the day while speaking with reporters at Halas Hall.

Kmet missed practice on Thursday with a quad injury but was able to return as a limited participant on Friday. Foreman missed practice on Thursday with a personal reason and was also limited on Friday.

Good news for the Bears, wide receiver Darnell Mooney will not have an official designation entering the weekend despite missing practice on Wednesday with a reported illness. Mooney was able to return as a full participant over the final two days of practice.

Special teamer Travis Homer will also be listed as questionable going into the weekend after popping up on the injury report on Wednesday with a hamstring injury.

Defensive end DeMarcus Walker, who missed practice on Wednesday with a shin injury, will be ready to go on Sunday after returning as a full participant. He will definitely be needed as the Bears defensive front will look to contain the ever-elusive Kyler Murray.
