Justin Fields Linked To 3 AFC Franchises As Wildly Intriguing Trade Landing Spots

The Chicago Bears are on the clock, as they own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. That may sound like bad news for Justin Fields fans, as the Bears could end up getting a quarterback with that pick. However, Fields still projects to garner a ton of interest from QB-needy teams should the Bears decide to use him as trade bait.

Justin Fields Linked To 3 AFC Franchises As Wildly Intriguing Trade Landing Spots

Via Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report:

Questions or not, some teams will be interested in Fields given his youth and upside, whether it’s the Falcons, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Las Vegas Raiders or the New England Patriots.

There is nothing concrete there that points to serious traction regarding a potential Justin Fields trade to any of the teams mentioned, but that still leaves so much to one’s imagination. The Falcons, Steelers, and the Patriots are three teams who should want better quarterback play. While Fields has yet to blossom into the elite quarterback that many people expected him to be when he was selected by the Bears as the top pick overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, he could be just a new environment away from reaching his true potential in the NFL.

Should Those Teams Consider Trading For Justin Fields?
The Steelers still don’t know exactly what they have in Kenny Pickett and neither Mitchell Trubisky nor Mason Rudolph are viable candidates to become long-term answer under center for Pittsburgh. As for the Raiders, they still have Jimmy Garoppolo, a veteran who got benched in favor of Aidan O’Connell. That speaks volumes about how they truly feel about him. Then there are the Patriots, whose offense was arguably the worst in the league in 2023 with quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe taking disastrous turns as starters.

Is Justin Fields better than all of those quarterbacks mentioned? He might be worth a gamble for the Raiders, Patriots, and Steelers.
