New video offers convincing evidence that future Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams is a rare NFL Draft prospect

NFL general managers and scouts have done their film study on the Chicago Bears’ expected first-overall pick, Caleb Williams. No prospect is perfect, and even for a player like Williams, who’s described as a generational talent, there’s always at least something to improve on.

Social media scouts have done their best to find Williams’ weaknesses, and one that’s consistently raised is his inability to play (or succeed) within the structure of a play call.

Instead, Williams is sometimes described as a quarterback with the dreaded hero-ball mentality. He passes up the singles and doubles on his quest to always hit the home run. And while it’s true that Williams is a touchdown-to-checkdown player, he’s also a really, really good pocket passer.

Sometimes, all it takes is some convincing. A new video compilation produced by Bears content creator @DWCProdz does just that.

Check it out:

That’s more than 20 minutes of Caleb Williams dicing opposing defenses from inside the pocket. His eyes are always downfield, even as the pocket collapses around him. He’s clean with his mechanics (especially his feet as he dances around or through chaos) and zips accurate passes to all three levels of the field.

Yeah, those are traits of a first-overall pick and a prospect that many teams that had the first pick in recent years probably wish they could’ve selected.

In 2024, that team is the Chicago Bears.
