Though the predictions for Joe Flacco and the Cleveland Browns were bleak at the start of the 2024 NFL offseason, things actually could be working out.
Flacco and the Browns were engaged in talks during the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, the Orange and Brown Report’s Brad Stainbrook reported Tuesday.
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio also validated that report, writing that a “reunion with the Browns is Flacco’s first choice.”
Flacco’s return to Cleveland at one point felt far off.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn’t been the quarterback’s biggest advocate.
The franchise has also assured that the offenses will be in Deahsun Watson’s hands for the foreseeable future.
Flacco would be a high-paid, but worth it, backup quarterback.
With Watson often injured, assuring that Flacco would be waiting in the wings is a move that makes too much sense for both sides not to see it through.
