Colin Cowherd Podcast: Nick Wright Gets Real on Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady: “Plays the Position Better”

The Kansas City Chiefs qualified for the AFC Championship game for the sixth time in a row. The debate around Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady has reignited once again. And the sports personality Nick Wright has given one of them an upper hand.

Wright appeared on the 60-year-old Colin Cowherd’s podcast and did not shy away from tough stances. Find out who he considers better at positional play among the two great quarterbacks.

Tom Brady vs Patrick Mahomes

Brady is regarded as one of the best QBs to ever step into the gridiron. His stats and 7X Super Bowl winner status have cemented his legacy as the GOAT. But in the same breath, many have claimed, that Mahomes has the pedigree to outdo the former New England Patriots QB soon.

“Patrick Mahomes plays the position better than anyone’s played it”, said Wright in comparison to Brady. And he quashed doubts about Brady’s 7 rings as well.

“He (Mahomes) doesn’t have the accolades to be able to call him the greatest ever, but he doesn’t need seven in my opinion”, said Wright. However, Wright’s assessment of Mahomes’ abilities is not far from the truth. However, even he would like to stack as many rings as possible, before ending his career. And in just 2 games, he can have one more.

On the quest for three rings

The 28-year-old Mahomes is still young and compared to how long Brady played, Mahomes has more years in the tank than he has already played. With 2 Super Bowl titles already to his name, he can march toward another Super Bowl game after the monumental clash this week.

As the Chiefs prepare to go on the road against one of the best teams this year, the Baltimore Ravens, Mahomes will come face-to-face with another great QB, Lamar Jackson. A victory against one of the most qualified teams will certainly put Mahomes even closer to Brady.
