Denver Broncos to Land Record-Breaking Offensive Weapon in Latest 2024 NFL Free Agency Projections

Will the Denver Broncos be able to rebound following their tumultuous reign with Russell Wilson?

In ESPN’s latest 2024 NFL free agency projections, the Denver Broncos will be looking to rebuild their offense with Russell Wilson or former first-round pick, wideout Jerry Jeudy. According to the projections, Sean Payton and co. may take a flier on the NFL record holder for most receptions in a season (149), Michael Thomas.

“Denver’s roster is in flux as it rebuilds post-Russell Wilson, but after trading Jerry Jeudy, it looks like it will run with Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims as its top two wideouts. Tim Patrick took a pay cut to return, but he has missed each of the last two seasons with injuries. Thomas could reunite with former coach Sean Payton and compete with Patrick for that third wideout role.”

Denver Broncos’ Drama with Russell Wilson Clouds 2024 Off-Season
Russell Wilson signed a five-year, $242 million deal with the Broncos following the trade between Denver and Wilson’s longtime home, the Seattle Seahawks following the 2021 season. The club bit the bullet and amicably parted ways with the potential future Hall of Fame signal-caller ahead of the new league year on March 1.

Wilson signed a one-year, veteran minimum ($1.21 million) deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, shortly after his departure with the Broncos became official. While Wilson will reportedly be starting in Pittsburgh following the club trading former first-round pick, Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver will still be paying Wilson $39 million to not play for them in 2024.
