Eagles Make Intriguing Offensive Signing To Start NFL Offseason

The Philadelphia Eagles have maintained a relatively quiet profile while undergoing a restructuring of their coaching staff.

However, they recently made a minor roster move by inking tight end Noah Togiai to a reserve/future contract.
Togiai, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020, has had a somewhat nomadic journey through the league, frequently shifting between the Eagles’ practice squad and other roles over the past four years.
During the previous season, he was elevated to the active roster for a single game against the Buffalo Bills, during which he saw action in just seven offensive snaps.

With the addition of Togiai, the Eagles have now secured the services of a total of 21 players through these new reserve/future contracts. This strategic move is a common practice in the NFL, wherein teams secure players who are not on the active 53-man roster, preventing them from negotiating and signing with other teams.

This move may not be one that excites the fan base, but it’s a good move nonetheless. Having tight end depth is certainly a major key for the Eagles’ offense. Being able to bring back Togiai was a clear goal for the team.

It will be interesting to see if he carves out a role for himself in the Eagles’ offense during the 2024 NFL season.
