Giants request interview with Bills’ Bobby Babich for defensive coordinator opening

Bobby Babich, the Bills’ linebackers coach, fits that description, and the Giants have requested an interview with him, The Post confirmed.

Babich, 40, was the safeties coach in 2018 in Buffalo when Daboll arrived as the offensive coordinator and they spent four years together on Sean McDermott’s staff.

So, there is certainly a familiarity there, not only with Daboll but also with general manager Joe Schoen from their shared time together with the Bills.

Babich took over coaching linebackers in Buffalo for his father, Bob, who retired after the 2021 season. Bobby Babich did not make the defensive calls during his seven years in Buffalo.

The Giants have requested an interview with Bills linebackers coach Bobby Babich.

In addition to Babich, the Giants have interviewed or expressed interest in Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson, former Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, former Chargers defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley, Dolphins linebackers coach Anthony Campanile and Jerome Henderson, the Giants’ defensive backs coach.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

The Giants signed WR Chase Cota and C Jimmy Morrissey to reserve/future contracts. Morrissey was with the Texans the past three seasons and Cota was with the Lions last summ
