‘He can tell you who won…’ Sabrina Ionescu shockingly reveals previously beating Steph Curry in shooting contest

During the All-Star weekend, the spotlight will shine on Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu as they go head-to-head on the court. Just hours before her showdown with the NBA’s legendary sharpshooter , Sabrina Ionescu graced the airwaves of SiriusXM Radio. The rising star of the New York Liberty then shared the story of her victory over Stephen Curry in a game of HORSE.

Sabrina Ionescu disclosed her victory over the Golden State Warriors’ star point guard in a game of HORSE. However, the game boiled down to trading half-court shots until one emerged victorious. The New York Liberty guard revealed that both she and Stephen Curry successfully made four shots. Yet, it was Curry’s miss on the fifth shot that sealed Ionescu’s win.

During her SiriusXM Radio appearance, the hosts inquired if Sabrina Ionescu had ever faced off against NBA players in shooting contests. Sabrina then disclosed an encounter where she engaged in a shooting showdown with none other than Stephen Curry.

Steph, yeah. And he can tell you who won…It was me. But we played HORSE, so…We were going back to back from half-court shots. We got to four and then he missed and so I won.
Sabrina Ionescu and Stephen Curry are geared up to go head-to-head in the Stephen vs Sabrina 3-Point Challenge. In this competition, both athletes will take aim from the NBA’s three-point line using NBA basketballs. Intearestingly, Ionescu was initially slated to shoot from the WNBA’s three-point line with WNBA basketballs. Thus, the updated format adds an intriguing twist to see how Ionescu fares in this new setup.

Klay Thompson picks Sabrina over Curry in All-Star three point contest

Before the All-Star Break, Klay Thompson declared his support for Ionescu. When questioned about his choice for the inaugural NBA vs. WNBA 3-point contest, he promptly selected Sabrina. He hailed her as the “Bay Area’s finest,” emphasizing his unwavering commitment to his choice.

Despite Klay Thompson experiencing a shooting slump throughout the season, his competitive spirit remains unwavering. Similarly, Steph Curry’s competitiveness is equally relentless.

He knows how ridiculous Sabrina’s record was. So he’s going with the champ; I am the contender. I can’t wait to walk back into the locker room and prove him wrong.
Curry emphasized the importance of continuing contests like this, highlighting how they showcase the competitive spirit regardless of individual performance. Ultimately, it’s a win-win situation, regardless of the outcome.
