Oswald Peraza’s shoulder problem quickly resurfaces in Yankees injury concern

Oswald Peraza had a renewal of shoulder pain after playing Tuesday and Wednesday and was expected to undergo imaging to determine the extent of the injury, Aaron Boone told The Post.

Peraza was seen leaving Steinbrenner Field around noon in street clothes Thursday as other players were arriving for a workout and then a night game against the Tigers.

Boone said that Peraza came to him Thursday morning and said the shoulder was bothering him again.

The Yankees manager continued to say he did not perceive the injury as serious.

Still, Peraza was out from Feb. 25 until Tuesday with tightness in his shoulder. He played second base on Tuesday and shortstop on Wednesday.

Brian Cashman did not respond to a text message about Peraza’s status

Peraza, 23, was far from a lock for a roster spot even if healthy.

The Yankees have made it clear that he might be best served taking everyday at-bats at Triple-A rather than linger as a utility infielder with infrequent appearances in the majors.

Clearly, though, any further injury setback — even minor — would curtail his chances to make the Yankees roster.

Oswaldo Cabrera could serve as the backup infielder and Kevin Smith remains in camp as a non-roster invite vying for a spot.
