Paul Pierce Teases NBA Comeback

Paul Pierce retired from professional basketball in 2017.

On a recent episode of Ticket and The Truth, Paul Pierce expressed interest in signing a ten-day contract. The former Boston Celtics forward said that his three-point accuracy is still adequate.

“Give me a ten day (contract). Let’s see it. We can document this. I got the camera man. Come follow the whole progress. I can get an open three.”

The 46-year-old also asserted that he could score 20 points against the Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs.

“Against Detroit and against San Antonio. I can get you a 20-piece nuggets.”

Both teams hold the worst record in their respective conferences. The Spurs’ top scorer is Victor Wembanyama, while Detroit’s leader is Cade Cunningham.

Although Pierce’s claim seems comedic, a comeback isn’t absurd. Nat Hickey, the record holder for oldest player to appear in an NBA game, made his final appearance with the Providence Steamrollers at nearly 46 years old.
