RUMOR: New York Giants Are ‘Seriously’ Considering Big 2024 NFL Draft Trade

There are plenty of questions surrounding the New York Giants, but there’s one thing fans can be sure of at this very moment: they need to find a new quarterback if they can’t don’t think Daniel Jones has a long-term future with the team.

Danny Dimes has faltered ever since getting his big extension last offseason, and the Giants are probably looking for a way out of paying his insane contract.

Getting a rookie QB in the 2024 NFL Draft is a great move to make as there are plenty of talented rookies in this year’s QB class. However, the top QBs that they want in their team will likely be taken before they even have a chance to get them.

Due to this, there are reports suggesting that the New York Giants could be making a move before this year’s draft.

New York Giants expected to make big trade before 2024 NFL Draft
Daniel Bates of The Spun published an article about the Giants moving to get one of the top picks of the 2024 Draft if they renege on their statements about Jones being the short-term future of the team.

He quoted ESPN’s Jordan Raanan on what the Giants would possibly do in April:

The Giants have the No. 6 overall pick and two second-rounders … They can use those to potentially look at a quarterback. I’ve been told by multiple sources that the Giants — if the situation presents itself correctly — the Giants would be at least ‘seriously willing’ to look at the quarterback position. … So what happens over the next few weeks, next few months that will strongly dictate what the Giants do either at the top of the first round, or with those two second-round picks, potentially trading back in to the end of the first round.

Jones was nothing short of disappointing for the New York Giants after getting his contract. He only played six games before he was ultimately benched in favor of Tommy DeVito, completing 68% of his passes for 909 yards, two touchdowns, and six picks.

If the Giants are really serious about giving Jones a chance, they might be doing so under the impression that they think it would cost them too much to get one of the top three picks. However, there’s little to no reason Joe Schoen wouldn’t try to snag one of the top QB prospects if he doesn’t fully trust Jones to pull it off this season.
