Getting candid.

Bachelor Nation fans met Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor” and while they didn’t receive Gerry Turner’s final rose, their friendship stole the hearts of America.

Now, the Bachelor Nation BFFs have teamed up to launch a brand new podcast called “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour.”

The first episode dropped this week and the “Golden Bachelor” stars opened up more about their first marriages.

Kathy shared more about her late husband who passed away five years ago.

She said, “We’re going down this road. Here we go. Most of you know I was married for over 45 years and have three great children and two fabulous granddaughters. My husband died by suicide five years ago. People talk about having big life changing moments throughout your life, obviously that was one of them for me.”

Kathy went on, sharing what she’s learned since then, saying, “I think that’s when I really learned. I was married at 20 and I am 70 years old now. I was a baby. What I know about myself now is really marked by his death because I learned truly that I can stand on my own two feet. I can do anything. I believe in myself now. As much as I want to find love, that’s what I know about myself.”

Kathy also asked Susan about her marriage to her ex-husband Dicky.

Susan opened up, saying, “Dicky and I are still good friends, we really are. Most people don’t get it. If I’m in a relationship, at Christmas or holidays, Dicky will be there with all my kids and grandkids and so would be the man I’m involved with.”

She continued, explaining, “Right now, I don’t have anybody, but we are ok. We are still friends and I still care about him. We share children together, we share grandchildren together, and we are in the same environment a lot. I am not afraid to find love again though, I am so open.”

Then, Kathy and Susan shared what they learned from their marriages that they will take into any future relationships.

Kathy said, “I had to raise my husband, he was a baby… Men love to be adored. One thing I’ve learned about marriage is the big Cs – you have to have compassion and communication. And I think the biggest lesson I learned from my marriage is compromise. You have to compromise. I just don’t think I compromised enough in my marriage.”

Susan added, “Communication is key. And not only do men need to be adored, they need to be acknowledged. That is one of the mistakes I made in my marriage and that I won’t do again. I learned from it. I needed to give more acknowledgement, even for the little things. Men like to be appreciated and they liked to be told thank you for doing even minor things. Just be a step ahead.”

We love learning more about Kathy and Susan! Make sure to check out the first full episode of their podcast “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour” below.
