The Bachelor season 28 contestant Madina Alam was at the center of the drama between Sydney Gordon and Maria Georgas, and she now reveals that she regrets using the word “bully” when talking about Maria. When Madina, 31, expressed concerns about being one of the oldest contestants to the other women, Maria later told another Bachelor season 28 contestant that Madina should own her age because she’s a beautiful woman. Sydney overheard her and misconstrued Maria’s comments as her talking badly about Madina. After Sydney told Madina about this, Madina told leading man Joey Graziadei that she felt bullied by someone in the house but didn’t say who. However, Sydney informed him that it was Maria.
In an Instagram reel, The Bachelor season 28 contestant Madina addressed the drama between Sydney and Maria. The caption of the post read, “Life’s a little short to be comin for ppl based off what you saw of them on a reality show, no? Spread love.”
In her Instagram reel, Madina said, “Alright, I’m gonna make this short and sweet. Do I regret using the word ‘bully’? Yes. Will I always use the right words at the right times, especially when I’m feeling a lot of different emotions? Absolutely not. But one thing I will never, ever regret, even if it gives me backlash, is opening up and being vulnerable.”
The Bachelor Fans React To Madina’s Apology
Madina also shared screenshots of several negative and harsh messages she received from people attacking her because of her actions on the show. In the comments section of Madina’s post, several fans expressed their support for her apology and criticized the backlash that she received. The Bachelor season 27 star Christina Mandrell, who was painted as a villain that season, wrote, “Love this.” Instagram user @reparovita wrote, “I mean it was all Sydney who blew things out of proportion. You and Maria handled it maturely.” Instagram user @evettchiu wrote, “I love you. Don’t let these haters get to you, because the truth is, THEY’RE the really insecure ones.”
Although Madina was upset with Maria at first because she thought she tried to make light of her feelings, she eventually smoothed things over with her. It was Sydney who wouldn’t let things go. Madina’s use of the word “bully” was probably a mistake, but she’s taking accountability and expressing her regret for it, which is very admirable. One thing that got lost in all of the drama was the fact that Madina did make herself vulnerable by discussing her concerns about her age, which is something that’s very relatable for a lot of people, especially when dating. She’s right not to regret that.
Madina doesn’t deserve the hate that people have given her on social media. The Bachelor fans should know by now that the show is a heavily edited series, in which the producers choose to focus on certain storylines. The scenes with Madina are just a fraction of her time on the show, and there is surely much more to her than this one story that the producers have chosen to highlight. Madina is trying to make things right, which is respectable. One thing’s for sure: Joey’s “Women Tell All” episode will be one of the most dramatic in Bachelor history.
