Tottenham are pressing ahead with their January business and are now in talks to sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.
The England midfielder has been made captain by Mauricio Pochettino and has been a key player for the Blues this season. However, Todd Boehly knows he could sell him for £50m of pure profit to help Chelsea’s FFP cause.
And according to respected Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham have now opened talks to sign Gallagher from Chelsea.
Taking to X just now, Di Marzio has confirmed that Spurs are trying to reach an agreement with Chelsea over a deal for Gallagher.
Tottenham pushing to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea
Well, this is quite the story emerging on a Saturday morning for Tottenham fans.
It seems the club are ramping up their January business and they are now looking to get a household Premier League name brought into the club.
Gallagher is ideal for Ange Postecoglou and how he plays. The England man is all action and would be able to win the ball back quickly for Spurs to enable their players to contribute further up the pitch.
With Gallagher potentially on his way and one of Jean-Clair Todibo and Radu Dragusin also arriving, it seems Tottenham are getting down to business quickly here.
Previous reports have suggested Chelsea will listen to offers of around £50m for Gallagher. Whether or not Spurs pay that, remains to be seen.
But this is one that will excite supporters and on the flip side, annoy the Chelsea fans at the same time.
The Blues supporters have seen some poor performances this season but Gallagher has been a mainstay of the team and impressive all the same.
Him joining Tottenham would hurt and at the same time, seriously harm the first XI.
