When the news dropped that Candiace Dillard Bassett wouldn’t be returning to Real Housewives of Potomac, some people cheered, while others reached for the nearest cryangle. She’s a polarizing figure, which is what made her such a great addition to the show. However, it’s impossible to talk about Candiace’s exit without thinking about Monique Samuels.

With Candiace out of the picture, fans immediately started reminiscing on Monique. Does this open the door for a comeback? Not so fast. Monique just took to her Instagram to make it very clear that she’s not trying to go back to Real Housewives.

Monique ain’t interested

Monique shared a selfie with a caption that made it very clear she didn’t want to return to RHOP. She simply wrote, “Nope! Don’t ask.”

The former Real Housewife has had a lot of changes in her life since we last saw her. She divorced Chris Samuels, and she hosts a morning radio show in the DMV area. She also still runs that essential oil business, so she has her plate full without Housewives.

Although it could be interesting to revisit Monique and her new life, her reality TV days are probably behind her. After leaving RHOP, Monique had a very brief run on Love & Marriage: DC. Even then, she said she was hesitant about coming back to reality TV.

“My experience with reality TV has been somewhat of a roller coaster to the point where at the end of it all, I had reality TV PTSD,” Monique shared at the time.

In addition to the PTSD comment, Monique said she wasn’t interested in returning to Bravo because of “toxicity.” She claimed she even turned down an invitation for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. She just wants to put those days behind her.

Monique explained, “I didn’t feel like I could be the same Monique that people were accustomed to seeing anymore when it came to that particular franchise and that particular network, because there was so much toxicity there.”
